This works exactly as advertised. It has just the right amount of suction to clear excess terrain elements, without disturbing what you just glued down.
We love our Model-Vac! I only wish I could plug the Woodland Scenics power supply in it, but it only allows battery. At first, I did not realize that when you stop the vacuum, the content will fall out if you don't tilt it backwards. Otherwise, this has proven essential when working with static grass and other terrain components. :) Glad we bought it.

This vacuum does pick up loose scenery items but I had 2 problems with it. First, it wasn’t strong enough to pick up the items of gravel/ballast I wanted to remove, so I was left with small grains. Second, there isn’t anything to stop the collected scenery falling back out on to your scene, so sometimes things would fall back.
It’s OK and would work for light items. Wasn’t what I hoped for.
