Description

The Basis of the Gepard weapon system is the remarkable Oerlikon-Contraves 35mm which was developed and put into production in the early 1960’s. During the 1960’s, two prototypes were produced. The Oerlikon, which was chosen for production, became the Flakpanzer Gepard, which was essentially a standard Leopard with the ordinary turret replaced by the Oerlikon-Contraves twin 35/90mm AA turret and associated auxiliary equipment.

Assembly and painting required. Kit does not include model cement glue, paint, tools, and adult supervision where required.

Sweet Model

Tamiya has done another fine job with this model kit!!! Lots of details and good quality plastic and not much flash to clean up you will be happy with this kit. I'm looking forward to displaying it with the life size 35 mm rounds I have to display with the model! So many moving parts. Challenging build, yet everything fits together perfectly. Highly recommend this kit.

Solid older kit

Being an older Tamiya kit I had some reasonable expectations for this set anyways but when I went through the assembly instructions and then built it I was blown away. The kit builds in three main pieces with a back clip and front bushing meaning without glue the top and bottom hulls stay together solid which means you can do complete assembly and then still do your paint work separately.
