Micro Finishing Cloth Abrasive Strips with Foam Block

Micro Cloth Finishing Products

Producing a consistent high quality finish is always a challenge, but not with Alpha Precision Abrasives new line of Micro Cloth and Pads. In order to achieve an imperfection free surface gradually sand your project producing a smooth even surface. The next step is to progress from coarse to fine micro grits in order to remove blemishes and scratches left behind from your initial sanding. Alphas Micro Finishing products are ideal for creating or restoring high gloss finishes. This product produces spectacular finishes on glass, metal, plastic, and wooden surfaces.

This is the perfect system for serious polishing.  Our unique 2” X 8” cloth is especially suited for polishing plastic surfaces.  Unlike common abrasives, Micro Cloth produces a fine even scratch pattern without creating deep uneven scratches which are difficult to remove.

Micro Cloth is made with a special cushion layer that allows the abrasive crystals to float, allowing abrasives to produce a finer more consistent pattern.  This Micro Finishing kit includes our unique foam sanding block.

This block has two different density foams laminated to a resilient foam core.  For curved and delicate areas, use the soft foam side.  For areas that require more aggressive action, select the medium density side.

This product can be used wet or dry on plastic, wood, metal, and resin projects.

Alpha micro finishing cloths

Perhaps I've been spoiled by using Micro-Mesh sanding cloths, but I find Alpha abrasive cloths sorely lacking. I find they are thin and flimsy to the degree that, when folded for a finger sanding pad, they don't have cushioned thickness to provide an even pressure distribution and are just plain difficult to control. As well, they tend to de-laminate; the abrasive layer separating from the cloth backing, when used in a tight or right-angle areas. I'm wet-sanding a Pocher 1/8 scale Mercedes 540K and there are lots of such areas on this car. I have been a Sunward shopper for some months and have been very pleased with the excellent service and quality of supplies, etc. I have received. This product, however, falls far short.
