In order to smooth over small scratches etc., many modelers have created their own liquified putty by dissolving putty with lacquer thinner. Tamiya now makes this process a whole lot easier by releasing our very own liquified putty, Liquid Surface Primer. Just brush on over scratches, rough areas etc. and you will get that perfect smooth finish.

Directions

  • Applies easily to small areas using a modeling brush
  • Can be used on plastic, metal and wooden models
  • Can be further diluted using Tamiya Lacquer Thinner, allowing it to be used in airbrushes.
  • 1 bottle contains 40ml

Great for filling in defects on resin prints

I gave this stuff a try for filling in small defects such as support marks and small bubbles on Resin 3D prints. It works great and sands easily.

I apply it with an old brush or spread small droplets with a paperclip; For deeper scratches it takes two coats but sands much more easily than when applying and curing droplets of resin (also less mess and no faffing around with a UV flashlight, no residue from oxygen inhibition of the resin surface either)

Great product

Did a great job, sanded and airbrushed to leave a very smooth finish on my Camaro 2017 model that had a lot of marks on it.
