I've been looking for an excuse to spend the initial money to start airbrushing and finally found it. Iwata and Badger are the only real options for high quality and low budget, and this kit was the perfect tool to get started.

I couldn't shut up about how great this kit was for two straight days as I primed dozens of miniatures indoors during a -50C cold snap. I got butter-smooth coverage with very little practice after watching a few videos on airbrush technique. The compressor is just powerful enough, but I should mention it's at the bottom end of useful pressure (5-15psi when most youtubers are recommending 25-35), and if you don't use some thinner (store bought or homemade) you're going to have a rough time even with some of the made-for-airbrush products.

For an example of what you can push through this airbrush, I bought some AK ultra matte varnish and some Vallejo black and white primer with this and have used all three. The AK varnish goes on so smooth it's a little easy to accidentally overload your miniature. The Vallejo primer needs a little thinner (1:5 or 1:10) to spray without speckling because of the low pressure. White primer isn't easy in general but ends up okay after a few layers as long as you're thinning it and letting it dry between layers.

After a few weeks of using this airbrush to prime foam without melting it and to varnish finished models so I can put them on my shelf, using a homemade ventilated spray booth, I'm very happy with it. I feel pretty confident about using it and recommending it.

A serious piece of kit for the price!
