A very deep, vibrant and regal red. The paint itself offers good coverage. Dries to a subtle satin finish. It should be noted that the citadel paint pots are subpar and prone to paint drying in the crevices of the lid, causing an improper seal when closed.
To try to mitigate this, I clip the strips of plastic which attach the lid to the ring securing it to the pot and then use the lid itself to dab a bit of paint onto a wet palette. If paint still persists in the crevices, the lids can be turned inside out and the dried paint then easily removed. Run warm water over the closed bottle to soften it up if you find it difficult to turn the lid inside out at first.
The Word Bearer's Red is showcased here on the shield of this Roman Legionary, painted over a black undercoat and treated with a satin varnish.
Great coverage and is a great red to use for the darker shadow areas of your models.
