Citadel Contrast Space Wolves Grey 18ml Paint 29-36

This was my first time using contrast paints and I must say I’m a huge fan now! It does exactly what it says by filling in the low points and creates a mid and high tone as well but as lighter shades. I can certainly see how these help with speed painting but I use them almost like a wash and then add my highlights and detail over top. Highly recommend giving some of these a shot.

Dude contrast paints are not meant to have super coverage like AK Interactive or Vallejo paints. They're meant to go over white, off-white or very light grey primer. If applied correctly Citadel Contrast are some of the most innovative paints. The colour can also be darkened up with several passes after each previous coat has dried. Here's a paint chart of all the Contrast paints applied and there's nothing wrong with Space Wolves Grey. Also they can't be applied with a lot of paint on the brush, because that leads to coffee staining and pooling. Watch Warhipster on Youtube, he has many dozens of painting tutorials and just recently released a "how to use contrast" video.
Also they kick Army Speed paints out of the game because Speed paints when gone over with the base primer colour for touch-ups smear and won't go back to their original primer colour, one will get a pink mess or yellow mess. Whereas if Contrast need a touch up, it's no problem to go over it with the original primer colour applied.

It’s very see through has terrible coverage it’s more of a wash that I will use over another Color and wish it was marketed as such but will still serve a purpose in my paint range.
