Weathering pencils are water-based pencils with 17cm semi-grease paint specially for use in modeling. Specially formulated with the most suitable basic colors to achieve all the effects in a very simple way.

They are very easy to control, clean, and of course they are not toxic. It is an ideal tool both for people who want to introduce themselves in modeling and for more advanced modelers who can discover their properties in different effects.

We recommend using them on a matt surface to achieve optimal results, but thanks to their semi-fat tip can be used on other finishes getting.

Nice and soft so it won't scratch off paint but ....

I bought several of these in hopes of sharpening to a fine tip and then drawing on that difficult GW Heavy Metal grey highlight inside the edges of a shoulder pad.

Unfortunately, these are very soft and attempts to sharpen often lead to the "lead" simply crumbling or snapping off entirely.

These still can be use for edge highlights but the side of a brush is more effective.

I have not yet found an instance where these were better for weathering either over dotted oil paint or other "streaking" products.
