In making repairs, Canopy Glue because it is water based is the only product that I have found that is effective in reattaching loose plastic based binding on guitars or any stringed instruments that is already finished with nitrocellulose laquer.
Unlike solvent based glued it does not damage the finish

Seems to be good product overall. It does not have a great initial adhesion. You have to be precise and keep the part help with tape or rubber band.
