The weather forecast for this Saturday May 30th is promising and we are all anxious to fly so we have decided to proceed with the first Cambridge Rocket Club launch of the year while abiding by COVID-19 provincial guidelines pertaining to physical distancing and gatherings of no more than five (5) people.
This is how we propose to proceed;
- The CRC Mini launch on May 30th (subject to good weather) will be carried out in three (3) launch windows (4 if necessary). Each launch window will last for 1 1/2 hours and will be limited to five (5) CRC MEMBERS ONLY!!! No guests will be allowed at this time (sorry).
- The launch windows will run as follows;
-
- 9:00 to 10:30
- 11:00 to 12:30
- 1:00 to 2:30
- 3:00 to 4:30 (if required)
Members ONLY will be required to pre-register for this launch. To be fair I will open the registration process by e-mail at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 27th on a first come, first serve basis. I will use the e-mail date stamp to determine the registration order. Registrations submitted prior to 6:00 p.m. will not be processed.
When you register please be certain that you will be attending. A no show will deny another member their chance to fly. Be sure to clearly specify which launch window you prefer to fly. Also provide second and third choices (if possible) so that I will have some flexibility when assigning the windows. I will provide a list of confirmed registrations on Thursday evening at around 8:00.
This will be a mini launch and members are requested to bring their own launch pads so that we can provide physical distancing. Additional launch pads “may” become available.
Masks are not mandated but are recommended.
Hand sanitizer is recommended. I will bring some with me if required
Come prepared and ready to fly. Each launch window is only 1 1/2 hours long and the time will literally fly.
This is our first attempt to launch under these conditions and we are trying our best to get the season underway. I continue to ask for your patience and understanding. We must start somewhere. Hopefully the weather will continue to co-operate and we will fly as many model rockets as possible.
